Whatever The Weather
I made a decision a few years ago that I wouldn’t let the weather dictate whether or not I went hiking or even camping. I was determined to get out into the mountains and enjoy everything they have to offer.
Wild camping in Winter can be harsh, freezing cold with hail, rain and high winds. I got prepared.
Now I might not even check the forecast when I’m out on my own. Of course, when I’m taking a group out I have a responsibility of care and at least let them know what they’re up against.
The Main Event
Come out with us in the Winter to wild camp in your tent in the Peak District.
The hike won’t be huge and before you know it we’ve found a great camp site. You won’t need to bring water as our site has running water nearby (a waterfall) for our evening meal and breakfast.
Please don’t be disappointed if the weather isn’t awful.
Group Size: Maximum 4
Date: 29th February 2020
Location: Lake District
Have me all to yourself one to one or as a private group. Why not book in some extra activities?
The night will be a great opportunity to see the stars, a nearby town or the countryside. I can even show you how to take some awesome photographs in the dark with an DSLR or a GoPro. I’ll bring all of the necessary equipment along and go through all you’ll need to get started.
Navigation & Map Reading
The day before or the morning after would be a great time to learn some navigation. Why not add in a day when you book your ticket and you can spend either day learning how to navigate your way to camp and around the mountains.
